Actually: Support UTF8.
Hebrew mail messages can not be read in the Backupify UI, so I can't actually know what to restore.
Somehow, Hebrew docs shows OK, so I guess you have the know-how and it should be a quick fix.1 voteunder review ·

My local copy
Add some way to synchronize all backupify server's backup copies into my end, my own machine, so we can have our own local copy.

Integrate with other backup services
Please integrate backupify with any other service that already do any kind of backup!
The ones I use are crashplan and dropbox, so I already have two clients running on my machine to "sync data with the cloud".
So, this means I'd like to have all my backupify files inside dropbox somehow and, specially good if I don't have to install any other client on my end!
Or...
If I could have a replacement for both with a single better client that also syncs with them. The way I picture this is a server which have all clients already installed… more

Give more control to non-admin accounts
Instead of having to use a Google Apps admin account to change stuff, it would be cool to allow a regular user account access to do this. Saves to much time and effort.

Instructions are Misleading and Difficult to Understand
I am told: "Click the service icon above to view an archive of your data. Then click the file name to download your missing file".
However, there is no such icon.
Clicking the file name doesn't download the file.
I was unaware I have missing files, where did they go? How and why did they go missing? Did you loose them? That is the whole point of a backup service!!! = TO PREVENT FILES BEING LOST.I need to get my backed up data onto the new system before you throw the rest of my files away. Please Help!

Add an "oldest" button to the gmail archive.
Please ad an "oldest" button at the bottom of the gmail archive pages. It's available in gmail & would make looking thru the archive so much easier! Thanks!

Where are my Facebook Fans
I've looked all through the file backup and can't find the fans download. Did I miss something somewhere? According to your site, those should have been backed up.

Allow User Account Name Search
We have over 160 user accounts and trying to find one particular user status is often a pain. The search bar responds with GMail references to that user. But what about the ability to pull up a specifica account.

Hi Mike – I totally understand your pain. At the time our search bar does not have the functionality to search by user name but we are in the process of getting this started so people such as yourself with many users can easily search from any file/document from any user. We will update here and/or on the blog with added features such as this.

Status Messages
When a status message comes down from the top, have the user click an X instead of autodismissing it. It gives more time to read what it says.

Update Flickr meta-information
Once a Flickr photo has been backed up, the meta-information at Backupify doesn't seem to update. When I set a title or add a location to my pictures I don't see this reflected in Backupify.
Perhaps this is also the case for other services, at least I noticed this for Flickr.

Bram – we backup data from services like Flickr in the manner with which their API allows us to collect it. For instance, they do not allow us to take out certain data points, including location, at the time. As they update their API and allow us more access we will give users more information in their backups.

Google Docs: Indicate files of other owners
When I restore a file that has been shared with me (i.e. a file I didn't own myself, but its owner has granted me access to read or edit) I usually not only want to be able to read its content again, but also to continue collaboration on it with its owner and others contributors.
Currently, after a restore, I cannot indicate whether a file was owned by me or only shared to me. It's a plain new copy, owned by me and shared with no one.

Include a file's metadata in Google Docs backup
Google Docs backup is very incomplete regarding a file's metadata – only the "starred" status is backed up. In order to really have peace of mind regarding a Google Docs account – especially for one with a huge number of documents – a backup/restore of
- description [important]
- collections itself (and their hierarchies) [very important]
- the collections a file belongs to [very important]
- the versions of a file (for non-Google-Docs files) [less important]
- the sharing settings [important]
- the "Last modified" timestamp and account [nice to have]

I’ve forwarded this request onto our product manager. Currently through Google’s API we are restricted to what information they allow us to pull out and backup for you so when certain information becomes available we add that into your archives. We will update when this functionality is available.

Multiple Google Apps Accounts
I'd like to be able to add multiple Google Apps accounts. I have a Google Apps setup for myself and a few members of my family for personal stuff, and a couple of others for various businesses. I'd love to be able to backup everything in one place.
